A tradition that dates back thousands of years, Dia de los Muertos will be marked this year at Four Seasons Hotel Austin with two unique events that honor the Mexican holiday and its symbolic celebration of life.

Lobby Display

Taking the place of the usual Lobby flowers, a special Dia de los Muertos display will be viewable in the hotel’s Lobby from October 25 to November 1, 2017. Designed by In-Room Dining Manager Janeen Sanchez and made with assistance from the hotel’s talented pastry chefs, the display will include several traditional elements such as calaveras, colorful paper banners, candles and more.

Out on the Lawn – Mexico Dinner

Taking place November 2, 2017 on the TRIO back lawn, this dinner will overflow with the distinctive colors, sounds and unmistakable tastes of Mexico. Surrounded by the holiday’s festive decor – such as strings of papel picado, candles and vibrant marigolds – diners will enjoy music by the Austin latin band Salúd while feasting on a multi-course menu filled with pan de muerto, edible marigolds, a 60-day aged mole and other favorites culled from the recipe files of Executive Sous Chef Abril Galindo, a Guadalajara native. $125 per person
