Chef Elmar’s Fried Chicken

Whether food, fireworks or fun activities are your favorite part about the 4th of July, Four Seasons Hotel Austin offers the perfect downtown spot to celebrate.

Kicking off the fun early, the Pool will feature an expansive lunch buffet on Tuesday, July 4 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. Open to Hotel guests only, the buffet is $17.76 per person (get it?) and will feature favorites such as burgers, hot dogs, brisket sliders and BBQ ribs alongside several sides and festive desserts.

Locals can make the most of the midweek holiday at TRIO‘s annual Independence Day Dinner Buffet, a bespoke barbecue that combines regular menu items with traditional 4th of July fare, including Chef Elmar’s fried chicken, an outdoor smoked ribyeye carving station and sides such as warm potato salad. For dessert, a spread of pies of all types and sizes will satisfy those with a sweet tooth.

Aside from the fantastic food, diners will enjoy a variety of activities on the Hotel’s back lawn, from live music from 5:00 to 8:00 pm to hammocks and lawn games such as ping pong, giant Jenga and corn hole. Buffet guests interested in a do-it-yourself dessert option will also have access to outdoor firepits, where s’mores stations complete with marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers will be set up for the special occasion.

After dinner, set off on a short walk across the lake for the city’s annual concert and fireworks show at Vic Mathias Shores (formerly Auditorium Shores). The largest Independence Day celebration in Austin, the event begins with patriotic live music by the Austin Symphony at 8:00 pm followed by fireworks over Lady Bird Lake at 9:30 pm.
